The Hive House

Welcome to The Hive House, also know as the Headquarters and the buzzing heart of Fat Head Honey. This 100-year-old farmhouse isn’t just a headquarters—it’s where the honey magic happens, where ideas turn into golden drizzles, and where the real work of bringing our honey from hive to home takes place.

Step inside (well, metaphorically—this part of the farm isn’t open to visitors), and you’ll find shelves lined with honey, a workspace covered in sticky notes and even stickier counters, and the faint hum of an operation that never quite slows down. This is where we bottle up the raw honey, churn and infuse out our specialty flavors, and pack up orders heading to kitchens near and far.

A Little Bit of History

Beekeeping runs deep in Brian’s family—he’s a fourth-generation beekeeper, carrying on a craft that has been passed down for decades. While Fat Head Honey isn’t a century-old family farm, it’s built on generations of knowledge, hard work, and a love for bees. When Brian and Kathy joined forces, they blended tradition with innovation, creating a honey business that honors the past while dreaming up new ways to bring honey lovers something special.

Where Creativity Meets Honey

Let’s be honest—Kathy doesn’t just keep busy with honey. Her private art studio lives here too, because sometimes you need a break from the golden goodness to make a different kind of mess. Between paintbrushes and honey drizzles, there’s never a dull moment in The Hive House. And if you ever wondered how we come up with things like barrel-aged honey or spicy hot honey blends, just know there’s a good chance it started as a “What if we tried this?” moment in this very house.

Kathy works on a charcoal piece of the legendary “PorkChop” in her personal art studio located in the upstairs of the 100 year old farmhouse. Any guesses on how many snacks PorkChop would demand for sitting still during a portrait session? (hint: it’s never enough)
