Life at the Fat Head Farm

Life at the Fat Head Farm

The Fat Head Honey Farm produces artisan honey in the heart of the midwest, with hives throughout the eastern side of Nebraska.

Brian and Kathy Suchan run their honey operation with the help of their “fat head” companions, named Porkchop and Harley. Two sweet and squishy bulldogs that are often seen by Fat Head Fans at local farmer's markets.

The Mission of Fat head Honey is to keep honey bees in the most natural way possible and to provide the locals with ethically sourced honey. Brian has been caring for bees since he was a young boy. His father, grandfather, and great grandfather were also beekeepers, making him a fourth-generation beekeeper! Brian’s hard work and wealth of knowledge on bees ensure the bees are in good health and are ready for the upcoming honey flow. The generational practices taught from Brian’s family of beekeepers are at the core of Fat Head Honey’s mission to ensure that the bees are well kept and the product is pure.

Kathy has been intrigued by the aspects of beekeeping since she was a young girl. While living in the south she joined the trend of urban farming and becoming a beeper. Kathy’s eye for aesthetics and love of artisan cooking have been at the forefront of Fat Head Honey’s unique products and craft flavor. She loves coming up with new creations and products for the business, like the craft infusions or creamed concoctions.

They say some things are “just meant to bee” ...just like Brian and Kathy. They love that they share the same passion for honey, bees, and life on the farm. Working side by side to produce craft honey and enjoying the most out of life.
